Mature Physiotherapy Student Seeking a Quiet, Long-Term Home in Canterbury

I’m a hard-working, 45-year-old mature student currently in my second year of a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree at Canterbury Christ Church University.

I’m responsible, tidy, considerate and respectful of other people’s space. My studies are extremely important to me, so I’m looking for a peaceful, comfortable and stable home where I can relax, study and enjoy my downtime.

Ideally, I’d love a small flat or apartment of my own, but I’m equally happy to share with one or two like-minded people, preferably professionals or mature students aged approximately 35–60. I’m comfortable sharing with either males or females.

I’m looking for a furnished double room in Canterbury or within approximately five miles, in a property with no more than three bedrooms and a maximum of three occupants, including myself.

An Important Point About My Future Home

I’m not simply looking for somewhere to sleep during the week. I’m looking for a genuine home where I can feel settled, comfortable and secure.

I take pride in looking after where I live and would treat the property with the same care, consideration and respect as if it were my own home.

However, I want to be absolutely clear about one important requirement.

I am not looking for an arrangement where I’m expected or instructed to leave the property at weekends, or at any other time, to accommodate a landlord’s friends, family gatherings, parties, barbecues or other personal or social arrangements.

I fully respect that landlords and housemates have their own social lives and are entitled to enjoy their homes. I simply expect that same consideration and respect in return.

If I’m paying rent to live somewhere, that property is my home seven days a week, not just when it’s convenient for someone else. I need to know that I can come and go freely, remain at home during weekends and enjoy my own space without being asked to vacate to accommodate visitors or social events.

This is particularly important to me, as my university studies require a stable living environment, and I value having somewhere I can genuinely call home.

I’m more than happy to share communal spaces, respect reasonable house rules and contribute positively to the household. I’m simply not prepared to accept an arrangement where my ability to remain at home is dependent on somebody else’s weekend plans.

Accommodation Preferences

* Budget: Up to £650 per calendar month, preferably including bills.
* Location: Canterbury or within approximately five miles.
* Property: Maximum three bedrooms and three occupants.
* Availability: From November 2026, although I can be flexible for the right accommodation.
* Tenancy: Preferably long-term, with stability throughout my remaining university studies.

I’m friendly, easy-going and sociable, but I also appreciate a quiet environment and everyone’s right to privacy.

I believe a good household is built on mutual respect, consideration, clear communication and understanding that everyone living there has an equal interest in feeling comfortable and at home.

I’m not looking for anything unreasonable, just a peaceful, welcoming place where I can settle, concentrate on completing my degree and enjoy everyday life without unnecessary disruption.
