Quiet single retired professional man seeks bedroom with access to bathroom & kitchen, in a private (possibly small-family) house in a town in the SE or SW. I was born in Penzance and have lived in Yorkshire, London, Devon, Surrey and Sussex. I'd be happy in any area:, including the North. My greatest wish is to enjoy the company I live with: this is more important to me than the house or region.

I am physically & mentally in excellent health and am a very active person. I enjoy the discipline of mental and physical work every day. Clean, tidy & organised; I am appreciative and adaptable, serious but very friendly and easy to "get along with". I am a retired civil servant and lecturer; I am well-travelled and long-divorced. I now spend much of my time writing and reading; I also enjoy walking and doing gardening. I like interesting conversation with new friends. I seek opportunities for regular unpaid charitable/social work and giving unpaid teaching/private tuition, mainly in mathematics up to university entry level, and to pupils (including SEND) in reading and conversational practice in English.
My rent budget depends partly on the house location & the size of my room.
I am generally well-organised and self-disciplined. I eat sensibly but am not a great cook. My greatest interests are teaching, writing, gardening, walking, conversation and opportunities for free tuition plus charitable work for elderly lonely people. I am known as a very interesting and kind person: my nature is Virgo (western philosophy) & Horse (Chinese philosophy).
