Looking for a double bedroom!
Hello! My name is Declan and I go by he/they.
📦 I'm looking to move before 31 of July (my landlord wants the flat back). So ideally beginning of July. Rent: maximum £750 without bills included, can go up to £800 if bills included.
🛏️ Bedroom: I just need my own space, so has to be a SPACIOUS double bedroom, FURNISHED with plenty storage, and LUMINOUS! A good orientation for the bedroom would be great (I've spent two years under a tiny window oriented north and my mental health didn't like that at all.)
For shared spaces, I'm more flexible, but here are some preferences:
🛁 Bathroom, if shared by several people, would need to be kept clean and would be spacious enough to not bump the walls while in the shower.
🥘 Kitchen, would be fitted with a big enough fridge-freezer, and storage space for everyone's supplies.
🛋️ Living room, I don't usually spend huge amounts of time there, so I don't have preferences, I'm happy to follow the vibe of the other flatmates.
🏡 The flat should be overall QUIET, I get overwhelmed with loud or repetitive noises. And with some kind of policy on guests (ever woke up to a complete stranger, drunk and drugged up, passed out on your couch? yeah, didn't enjoy that). It should also be somewhat easy enough to heat in the winter. No smoking or vaping please. Pets are more than alright by me, or a generally pet-friendly flat.
📍Location roughly 30min to city centre by bus would be ideal. I would prefer the street to be quiet if possible, and the flat close to amenities and transports. If no shared garden, I'd also prefer the flat to be close to some green public space.
👯 Flatmates: I'd love to join other queer people, but as long as the flat is queer-friendly I'm good to go! Preference go to people from their mid-twenties upward, student or not it doesn't matter (as long as it is agreed to share the council tax). Overall, I'm looking for CLEAN, TIDY, reliable, and responsible people, who are respectful of others' spaces and place within the household and healthily communicate if things get difficult. If we have similar interests or not, it doesn't really matter to me, I'm open and happy to discover new things!
🚶🏻A bit about myself as a flatmate: I'm an introvert, I like having my own space and time alone. I'm not a morning person, I sometimes go to bed rather late, but I'm always mindful to keep noise levels at a minimum. I do enjoy spending some time with my flatmates rather than never speaking until bills come around. I'm also responsible and clean, specially for shared spaces: I make sure to keep it tidy and clean and generally try to inconvenience no one.
💼 Professionally: I have started a part-time master by distance learning (in archives and records management). I provide house/petsitting and dog-walking services on a self-employed basis. However I've been job-hunting for a full-time or permanent position in heritage and archives (for the last 2.5 years), and volunteering in the sector in the meantime so I'm overall quite busy! To give reassurance about my ability to pay, I can provide landlord's reference, friends and flatmates' references, pay some months rent in advance or a UK guarantor.
🫶 If all this sounds good, you would like to know more about me, buddy up, or have a room going, please get in touch!
