Working professional looking for a home in Glasgow

Hi! I’m Abdullah, although depending on when you meet me, you may also hear Aboody, ABT or Abs.

I’m a working professional with a background across tech, data, research and human rights, and I recently finished my MSc in IT at the University of Glasgow. I’m now looking for a furnished flat or flatshare in Glasgow, ideally around the West End or somewhere well connected.

My budget is roughly £800–900 pcm, although I can be flexible for the right place. I’m much more interested in finding a genuinely good home and good people to live with than forcing everything into an exactly equal split.

As a flatmate, I’m sociable but very respectful of personal space. I like the kind of home where everyone can disappear into their rooms and do their own thing without it being weird, but where we can also end up talking in the kitchen for an hour, share dinner occasionally, go for a coffee, watch something together or celebrate the little wins in each other’s lives.

I’m definitely not looking for a party flat but I don’t really want to live in a house of strangers either. Somewhere calm, comfortable, clean and friendly would be ideal.

Outside work, I make art and animations, take far too many photos, and have a habit of turning short walks into accidental expeditions across Glasgow. I’m the sort of person who leaves for some fresh air and returns three hours later having found a canal, befriended a cat and bought a coffee I had absolutely no intention of buying.

I also love cooking and baking, and feeding people is probably one of my main love languages. I can make a very good Pakistani/Indian meal.

I’d be happiest living with other working professionals, postgrads or people in a similar stage of life. No gender preference at all. What matters much more to me is that you’re considerate, reasonably tidy, communicative and comfortable with the idea that a flat can feel like home with the right kind of decor lol.

Mostly, I’m just looking for good people and a place we can make feel a little bit like home.
