Ru & Poppy

Hey there,

My name’s Ru. I’m queer, originally from Somerset, and I moved to London about three years ago after graduating from drama school. I’m currently looking for somewhere new to call home.

My best friend Poppy (she’s in the photo) and I are hoping to find two separate rooms within the same house—we love living with others, but are keen to stay together as a pair. We met at drama school and have been close ever since, and we both absolutely love the look and feel of your place.

I work at the Barbican as a venue manager, and I also run a theatre company, which takes me travelling from time to time alongside organising events across London. I’m really into all things creative—physical theatre, dance, acting, film, reading, and the occasional boogie. I’ve actually just finished making a show with Poppy as well.

Poppy is also an artist, performer, and dancer, and brings a really warm, thoughtful energy to a home. She works with me at the Barbican, runs her own theatre company, and has just finished filming a short series. She’s often in rehearsals or creative projects, but also really values downtime—whether that’s cooking, watching something good, or having a proper catch-up over a cup of tea or a glass of wine. She’s tidy, considerate, and a genuinely lovely person to live with.

At home, Ru’s known for their Sunday roasts, and Poppy known for laughing far too loudly at terrible jokes, we are always being up for getting a round in at the pub. We’re both looking for a relaxed, friendly home—somewhere that might include the odd pub trip, a summer BBQ, or a shared roast, which Ru will cook ;)
