Ru & Poppy

Hey there,

We’re Ru and Poppy, and we’re currently looking for a new place to call home together.

We met at drama school and have been close friends ever since. These days, we both work at the Barbican alongside our creative careers. Ru works as a Venue Manager and runs a theatre company, while Poppy is an actor, artist, and theatre maker. Between us there’s usually a creative project, exhibition, rehearsal, or event bubbling away somewhere, but we’re equally passionate about creating a home that feels calm, comfortable, and welcoming.

Originally from Somerset, Ru moved to London three years ago and has built a career as a physical theatre performer, dancer, actor, and producer. Poppy brings a huge amount of creativity, warmth, and artistic energy to everything she does. We’re both sociable people who enjoy good conversation, meeting new people, and being part of a friendly household, while also being respectful of everyone’s space and downtime.

As housemates, we’re tidy, considerate, and easy-going. We love cooking, sharing meals, and making a house feel like a home rather than just a place to sleep. Ru is particularly proud of their Sunday roasts (though they'll almost always insist they've done better), and we’re both partial to a pub trip, a film night, a board game, or a spontaneous kitchen catch-up after work.

What we're really looking for is a home with a warm, friendly atmosphere—somewhere people say hello, occasionally share a drink or a meal, and enjoy living together without any pressure. We love the look and feel of the space and can genuinely see ourselves building a happy home there.
