Art teacher looking for a room in East London, Aug

Hi, I’m Chris, a secondary school Art teacher looking for a room in East London from August—ideally East Village, Hackney Wick, Stratford, or Maryland.

I’ve been renting for years, have never missed a payment, and come with excellent references and a deposit at the ready!

🏠 I’m looking for
• Up to £1300/month (including bills), ideally a little lower.
• Move in anytime in August
• 12 months (I’m starting a maternity cover contract) with potential to stay longer
• Double room (with en-suite would be the dream...)

👤 About me
I’m super friendly, easy-going and considerate, and very used to house-sharing.

During the week I’m out by 7am and back around 5pm, and after a full day surrounded by teenagers, I’m usually exhausted and just need to stare at a wall for a while!

But I love a sociable home and I’m often up for a shared meal or film night, and always up for a Friday/weekend drink.

I’m very good at keeping shared spaces clean and tidy, and I’ve also been a live-in landlord before, so I understand what makes a good tenant.

🎨 Interests
I’m really into art, exhibitions and galleries, and I love music—I'm an occasional DJ of Latin, jazz, afro, house, disco.

I also love cooking and am up for sharing the occasional meal.

👥 Ideal household
I’d love to live with other professionals who are:
• Friendly and easy-going
• Respectful of each other’s space
• Fairly chilled during the week, but enjoy London life at the weekend
• LGBTQ+ friendly household essential
Creative households would be a big bonus.
