Single room for retired professional gentleman

I am a retired professional looking for a quiet life. I need a single room and would prefer private facilities, but am flexible. My interests include jazz, current affairs and philosophy.
I'm very liberal in my views, but have never been politically active. My budget is not flexible and should include all bills. Ideally, I would have a sink, fridge and microwave to myself. I could bring a microwave with me.
