UCL East Postgraduate Student

Hi! I’m Kaitlyn, a postgraduate student from Hong Kong starting my MArch in Design for Performance and Interaction at UCL (based at Here East) this September. I’m looking for a single room on a 15-month contract, ready to move in from early-mid September 2026.

About me:
• I’m 27, originally from Hong Kong, with 4 years of full-time work experience before returning to study — so I’m a mature, sociable and easy-going flatmate, not a typical fresh student.
• I’ve been living out with my partner in Hong Kong for the past 2 years, so I’m used to sharing a home and keeping common spaces clean and tidy.
• Non-smoking, no pets, not a party person. I enjoy a quiet glass of wine, coffee or a cocktail while chatting with friends, but I don’t host loud gatherings or get drunk at home.
• I cook and meal-prep for myself regularly, and I always clean up the kitchen after use.
• Reliable with rent payments — happy to provide proof of funds, university offer letter, or references.

A bit more about my lifestyle:
• I’m a bit of a workaholic: when deadlines hit, I’m mostly in my room working at my computer, so I’m low-maintenance and quiet during the week.
• Outside of work I enjoy reading, anime, visiting exhibitions, and exploring cafés and cocktail bars.
• I value my own privacy and will fully respect yours, but I’m also happy to be friendly, chat, and share the occasional meal or drink with flatmates.

What I’m looking for:
• A clean, safe, quiet flat/house with respectful flatmates.
• Location: E15 / E20 (Stratford, East Village) or nearby areas with good transport to UCL Here East — Leyton, Leytonstone, Hackney Wick, Bow, Forest Gate all work.
• Budget: up to £1,150 per month, bills included (flexible for the right place).
• No damp/mould, preferably a residential building with proper heating and ventilation.
