Quiet, Accessible Room or Self-Contained Setup

Hi there,

I’m Florian, a working professional and product manager at Meta, returning to the UK in about 4 weeks. I’m looking for a very quiet room or self-contained setup in London / Greater London, or within roughly 40 miles of London. I’m also open to greener or coastal areas if the setup is especially good.

I have moderate/severe ME/CFS and am largely housebound, so I would be home most of the time. Because of this, I need a calm, low-stimulation home rather than a sociable or busy flatshare. I’m very sound-sensitive, so the best fit would be a quiet household with one considerate person, or a self-contained annexe/studio/flat.

Practical needs:
- very quiet household
- step-free or mostly step-free access
- ground floor or lift access
- space to store/charge a compact electric wheelchair
- carers/support workers visiting occasionally or regularly
- private bedroom and enough space to rest properly
- kitchen access that works around limited energy and noise sensitivity
- ideally private bathroom, outdoor space, or easy access to green space

I currently receive daily care, though I hope this may reduce over time. Support visits would mostly be for practical things like meals, laundry and changing bedding.

I’m not looking for a lively flatshare, but I could fit well with someone who lives quietly and values a calm home. Photos/videos and answers to practical questions are enough initially, as I’m currently abroad and cannot view in person.

Budget depends on the setup, but ideally under £1,000 pcm including bills if sharing, with some flexibility for an unusually suitable place.
