Basic room for an expat trying to come home

I might not have an income before moving in, but I'd be able to secure sufficient income to safely cover my budget price within a few weeks of getting established and I have savings more than sufficient to cover costs until then (i. e. for around a year). I'm finding it difficult to find listings which accept some one without a current income, but I'm not yet in the country—I'm trying to move back from abroad!
I don't much mind where I live nor whom I live with: all I need is basic personal safety and privacy, and enough space for a proper desk in my room.
