Italian PhD student looking for a room, Sept 2026

My name is Giacomo, I'm 25 and originally from Italy.

I'm moving to Manchester to start a PhD in electrical engineering at the University of Manchester, beginning in October 2026. I'm a funded doctoral researcher, so I have a stable income throughout my studies. I'd be looking to move in around 1 September 2026, to give myself time to settle in before term starts, and I'd need the room for about two years.

A bit about me as a flatmate: I'm easy-going, tidy, and respectful of shared spaces. I spent six years studying in Bologna sharing the same flat with other students, and it was a genuinely good experience: we cooked together, went out, and became close friends over the years. I'm sociable but also value a calm home to come back to. I don't smoke.

Practically: my budget is up to £600 per month including bills, and I'm looking for a room in one of the student areas with a reasonable commute to the university campus on Oxford Road, where my department is based.
