Looking for a room (~4 months internship)

Hi there,

I'm Alex, a 25-year-old biochemistry master's student from Heidelberg, Germany, looking for a room for a fixed-term stay from September to December 2026. I'll be a visiting researcher at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute on the Biomedical Campus, working on mapping the 3D molecular architecture of the tumour microenvironment in breast cancer.

A bit about me: easy-going, on the quieter side, but I enjoy the social side of a houseshare — cooking together, the odd night out, or a relaxed chat over a drink. I also respect everyone's need for their own space. I keep shared areas clean and tidy and have always pulled my weight in past flats.

Outside work I'm into running and the gym, and hoping to join a club or team sport while I'm here. I also volunteer with a social startup supporting students from underserved backgrounds. Generally open-minded and happy to meet new people.

I lived in a three-person shared flat for 2.5 years before moving into my own studio, so I know how to live well alongside others. My stay is funded by a research grant — happy to provide references and proof of funds, and my parents can act as guarantors if needed.
