Family of 3 (Visiting PhD) Looking for a Short-Term Home (9 July – 6 September)

Hello!

My name is Beatrice and I am a PhD student at the University of Bergamo (Italy). This summer I will be joining the University of Reading as a Visiting PhD Student while carrying out research at the University of Reading, the British Library and the Bodleian Library.

My husband, our two-year-old daughter and I are looking for a fully furnished short-term home from 9 July to 6 September 2026.

Budget: £1,200–1,500 per month (depending on bills included).

We are both 42 years old and have previously lived abroad for many years (10 years in the United States and 2 years in Denmark). My husband is a high school Mathematics and Physics teacher and, as he will be on summer leave during our stay, he will be looking after our daughter full-time while I carry out my research.

Our daughter is a cheerful and quiet little girl who has attended nursery since she was six months old. She is used to sharing spaces with others and will sleep in a travel cot, so she does not require a separate bedroom.

We are looking for a studio, a small apartment, an en-suite or any suitable short-term accommodation. We are happy to share a kitchen but would strongly prefer a private bathroom. We do not require parking.

We are flexible regarding location and would happily consider Reading, Wokingham, Earley, Caversham, Tilehurst, Twyford, Maidenhead, Slough, Bracknell, Basingstoke, Old Basing, Hook, Fleet, Windsor, Egham, Staines, Uxbridge, or nearby areas, provided there are good public transport connections to both Reading and London.

We are a quiet, responsible family and would take excellent care of your home during our stay.
