Master’s student looking for a cozy London home
Hi! I’m moving to London in August/September to start my Master’s and I’m looking for a place that feels like a home for at least a year, potentially longer.
I’m from Amsterdam and speak English, Dutch and German (currently learning Spanish). I have always loved the energy of big cities — the mix of culture, music, interesting people, and the feeling that there is always something new to discover. I’m excited to build a life in London, not just study there.
I’m sociable, open-minded, and pretty laid-back. I’m always up for a spontaneous plan, but I also really value my own space. Some evenings I’m happy spending hours chatting in the kitchen over dinner, other nights I’ll disappear into my room, put on a face mask, watch something, and call it a day. I think the best house is one where both are completely normal.
The kitchen has always been the social space for me. I cook a lot (usually some form of pasta, noodles, ramen, tacos — basically anything with plenty of flavour), and I genuinely enjoy sharing food. I also have a habit of making playlists, sending people songs they need to listen to, and convincing friends to try a restaurant, exhibition, or artist who's still playing tiny venues.
Outside of home you'll probably find me at a pub, a concert, wandering around a vintage shop, attempting to justify another vinyl purchase, or trying a new yoga class. I love fashion too, so if you ever need someone to help pick an outfit or give an honest opinion before a date, I'm your person.
As a roommate, I’m clean and considerate. I’m not someone who needs everything perfectly organised, but I really value a clean and comfortable space. I like cleaning as I go, and I think a home should feel welcoming rather than like a showroom.
I’m looking for a friendly but independent household — somewhere people are comfortable having dinner together or sharing a drink, but where everyone also has their own life and space.
