PhD Student looking for Friendly Flat!

Hi everyone! I'm Lydia, and I'm moving to London in September. I'm new to the city, so I'm looking to move in or buddy up with roommates who already know the area and can show me around a little. My ideal flat is within a 30-45 minute commute from UCL's main campus, close enough to a park that I can go out on walks somewhere green, and ideally within 10 minutes' walking of public transportation and not too far away from a gym. Nice views and balconies are (of course) a plus, but not a requirement. In-unit laundry is a major plus!

About me: I'm 26, American, currently living in Kyiv, where I work at the Kyiv School of Economics. I'm clean as a roommate, respectful of your space, and (relatively) handy when it comes to maintenance jobs. I love to cook and hope you will occasionally share something I've made! In my free time, I enjoy techno music, outdoor activities and coming up with side quests to go on outside the city. I have a lot of hobbies, I speak 5 languages, and I'm terrible with plants. I'll probably work on campus most of the day Monday-Friday.

About you: in your 20s-early 30s, friendly, pro-LGBT (I'm queer), outgoing, and likes to try new things. Knows that the best way to solve a housing-related issue is to have good communication so that we can work it out before it becomes a major problem :) Pets are ok. Smoking (outside) is ok. Unfortunately, no couples, please; though of course overnight guests are fine, I'd prefer not to live full-time with a couple.
