Myself, Luisa, 23, and my Husband, James,25, are looking for a spare room/ temporary accommodation , but our situation is a little different from most applicants.

James is British and originally from Braintree, and although I am German, I lived in Steeple Bumpstead from the age of 9 until I was 21. Two years ago, we made the decision to move to Germany, but we’ve realised that England is where we truly feel at home, so we’re now planning our move back.

James works in carpentry, and I work as an Early Years Practitioner. We’re both hardworking, respectful, and very clean and tidy people who take pride in looking after wherever we live.

The only thing that makes our search a little more challenging is that we have our small dog, Bernie. He weighs around 8kg and is incredibly friendly, quiet, and well behaved. He’s lived happily in both a flat and a house, is fully house trained, and has never caused any damage or led to any complaints. We completely understand that allowing pets is a big decision, so we wanted to be upfront about him from the beginning. We would be more than happy to answer any questions or provide references if that would help reassure you.

Our plan is to rent a room for around four to five months while we settle back into England. During that time, we’ll be putting our furniture into storage and searching for a long-term house to rent. We’re simply looking for somewhere comfortable, respectful, and welcoming while we get ourselves established again.

As we’re currently living in Germany, arranging an in-person viewing is a little more difficult. However, my husband will be in England from the 13th to the 18th of August if a viewing during those dates would be possible. Alternatively, we’d be very happy to arrange a video call or provide any additional information you might need.
