Mid-Aged Architecture Masters Student
I’m moving to London to attend the Architectural Association. I have been transitioning into learning the building trades for six years now, after a career in community work in New Orleans, where the housing crisis and climate crisis were constantly connected. I have worked in wooden boat building, timber framing and am currently learning traditional furniture making. I’m looking forward to exploring and immersing myself in London, the UK and Europe’s vernacular building arts.
I love to cook and bake (although no where near the level of Great British Baking Show folks, and I now imagine most Brits to be star bakers). I enjoy live music, walks, hikes, and learning about edible plants and mushrooms. Parks, a sculpture garden, a relaxed cafe atmosphere, and a good ice cream spot tend to be my favorite city locals. For a living situation, I’m looking for a quiet place where I can relax, rest and reset. I’m a clean housemate. I’m communicative while I also value my alone time and respect others’ privacy and need for the same.
