I am a mature architect~placemaker~PhD Researcher
For me a great place to live is about the quieter things: an uplifting spot where I have the peace and quiet I need to concentrate on reading; writing and thinking as part of my PhD research; and treat your place as if it were my own, all while I get to know different parts of this great city and settle into a new rhythm.
Quiet, responsible and reliable, I am easy to have around, and when I'm not studying or out and about, love good conversations over a cuppa.
I'm interested in an absentee landlord situation and, preferably, just me in the house, though open to sharing with another quiet minded person - maybe another PhD researcher? I like eating clean plant based foods, with a bit of fish thrown in, and when I have time enjoy cooking for friends.
When it's just me in the house, I am especially suited to landlords who want the reassurance, security and peace of mind of a real, responsible, reliable human presence - while you're away enjoying somewhere else. With a bit of notice, I'm also happy to be there for the odd short tradesperson or utility visits.
By background I'm a chartered architect (FRIAI, RIBA, ARB) with over 30 years' experience, and that means my trained eye is on red alert - I'll spot the slipped slates after a storm, a blocked gutter, a sudden electrical fault, or a hairline leak before it becomes a real problem. So you get genuine peace of mind, and not just "another someone in the house."
I love living in neighbourhoods with great traditional streets and a good community spirit. Choral singing is one of my favourite things to do, so if you know of a great, diverse, choir in your part of town, I'd love to sign up.
I'm currently a PhD researcher at Ulster University's Belfast campus with roots in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. Having spent most of my working life in the northwest (Derry and Donegal), I relocated to Belfast to undertake my PhD about a year ago.
A couple of things to flag: I need to be close to good public transport links into Belfast city centre, somewhere handy for getting to places where I can easily recharge by walking/cycling in nature and beside the sea.
