Bubbly performing artist seeks space to call home
Hi there,
I'm Claire. I'm 34 years young, a performing artist and director of an entertainment agency I founded with a dear friend of mine.
I'm very sadly going through a breakup; I had moved in with my boyfriend this year but it isn't working out and so I am looking for a new home for asap (need to move by mid September absolute latest, but ideally by early Sept).
Due to my line of work I don't earn a huge salary, so am looking for somewhere around the £800-£900 mark (I was lucky enough to be living in a converted warehouse space in one of the warehouse communities for the past 6 years with an all inclusive rent of £780, including a massive open plan home studio. I think we probably had an extremely rare find and a very low rent, even for warehouse spaces, so I don't know what I'll be able to find for my budget but I am hopeful!)
I WFH several days a week when I am doing admin / laptop work for my business, washing costumes etc, but when I am training or doing performing gigs I am working out the house.
Due to my work I need either a large bedroom or a house/flat with plenty of storage elsewhere.
About me:
I am outgoing and sociable, but also work very hard as my career is my passion.
My performance work involves circus (stilt walking, fire eating, aerial hoop), burlesque and cabaret, compering and presenting, interactive acting and so on.
And when I am not working I love: adventures and days out, getting out in nature, being a tourist in my own city, cooking vegan food, drinking wine and DMCs, dancing (nights out or dance classes), festivals, getting involved in activism or community, seeing cabaret shows and comedy, walks/cycles/hikes, languages (I speak French, Spanish, a little Italian, and am learning German).
I have lived in house shares my entire adult life, including two warehouse spaces so I am a considerate housemate. I prefer clean homes and have successfully worked with cleaning rotas for the past few years to make things as easy and accountable as possible, but I recognise that life can get in the way of chores sometimes too.
I don't want a party house, but enjoy homes filled with music and laughter rather than silence.
I'd love to find a new place to call home that isn't just a bed for sleeping in. Where possible I'd love to make real friendships within the house, so if I sound like the right fit for you I'd love to hear from you!
