Looking for a cozy home with nice people

My name is Friederike, I’m 27, and I’m a political scientist and an incoming postdoctoral researcher in political communication at the Department for Politics and International Relations and the Oxford Internet Institute. I study all things social media and politics, which always makes for interesting conversations. :)
I’m German, originally from North Rhine-Westphalia (near Düsseldorf), and I currently live in Munich, where I just submitted my doctoral thesis in Political Science at the Technical University of Munich.

My two-year contract starts on 2 November, so I’m currently looking for a shared apartment or studio for myself during that period. Ideally, it should be furnished or semi-furnished and have Wifi, a washing machine and ideally an en-suite bathroom but that’s no must.

I would describe myself as a very enthusiastic, motivated, organized, and reliable person. I’m always open to new experiences, such as learning about new cultures, languages, food, exploring places, or finding great coffee and pastries, which I know Oxford has a couple of good places to go to. I love all sorts of sports, and I’m currently training for a Mixed Doubles Hyrox in October. Other than that, I like running, yoga, Pilates, boxing, and more, but I also fell in love with reading books (both fictions and non-fiction). I like walks and hikes a lot, especially in autumn with gloomy weather.

I have a lot of experience living with others while studying in Mannheim and Denmark, and while I was living in Belgium for a bit. I’m looking forward to living with nice people, the occasional get-togethers, end-of-day-rants, movie nights, or nice walks.

I’m looking forward to finding a nice place to live in and start the next exciting chapter of my life in Oxford. :)
