Postdoctoral Researcher seeks a room

I am a 27-year-old French researcher in astronomy, and I’ll be starting a postdoctoral research position at Durham University on 1 October 2026. I’m currently looking for a single or double room in a shared house or flat, ideally from 1 October, with a budget of up to £1,200 pcm. I'd like an apartment within a reasonable walking or public transport distance (40 minutes maximum) of Durham University (Stockton Road).

I’d love to live with people around my age (roughly within a 10-year range), and I’m happy to share with both men and women.

A little about me: I’ve lived in shared flats before during my studies in Paris and Strasbourg, so I’m used to sharing a home and being considerate of others. I’m friendly, easy-going and sociable, and I enjoy going out, watching movies, listening to music, and having a chat over dinner or a drink. At the same time, I completely understand that everyone needs their own space and downtime, and I’m respectful of that.

I’m looking for a home that feels friendly and welcoming, where we can occasionally do things together but also have our own lives and space.
