Professional relocating to London – £800 budget

I'm a 32-year-old professional currently based in Lisbon and relocating to London for work. I'm currently awaiting the final decision on my UK work visa, with an expected decision around 23 November, and am hoping to move shortly afterwards. I'm looking for a furnished room from late November 2026.

I'm primarily looking in East and Northeast London, particularly around Leyton, Walthamstow, Forest Gate, Stratford, Bow, Mile End and Hackney, but I'm open to the right place elsewhere with a reasonable commute.

I'm clean, tidy, respectful and easygoing. I'm sociable and enjoy getting to know the people I live with, but I also value having my own space and keeping the home relaxed and comfortable.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, exploring new places, cafés and restaurants, music, art and skating. I'm looking for a friendly household where people are considerate of each other and the home feels like a place to actually live.

I'll be working full-time and expect to be in the office around three days a week, so I'm ideally looking for somewhere with good transport links. I'd prefer a furnished room with bills included.

I'm ultimately looking for a longer-term home, but given that my relocation is still subject to final visa approval, I'd ideally prefer an initial arrangement with some flexibility rather than committing to a long fixed-term contract immediately. I'm very open to discussing something that works for both sides, with the intention of staying longer term.
