Affordable, cosy home with kind like-minded people

Hi! I'm looking for a room to rent in Sheffield, ideally from the end of my current living situation (20 Nov), with a minimum six-month stay. I'm hoping to find somewhere affordable, comfortable, and welcoming where I can settle back into life in the UK.

A little about me: I've recently returned to the UK after living abroad for around ten years, and I'm looking to put down some roots and find a place that feels like home. I'm creative, curious, and caring. Interested in any and all forms of art, writing, spirituality, astrology, movement, and creative ways of living. I'm building my own creative practice alongside part-time work.

I'm not new to communal living and house shares, and I appreciate how important it is to be open minded, considerate, and respectful of other people's space. I enjoy living independently while also feeling a sense of homeliness or community — very up for cooking together, sharing ideas, and just enjoying a cosy communal space. I love meeting people with different interests and perspectives. I value kindness and mutual respect above having everything in common.

The kind of place I'm looking for:

- an affordable double room, ideally with good natural light

- somewhere reasonably close to Sheffield city centre, with easy access to green spaces, parks or nature

- a smaller household — ideally no more than four people in total

- a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where people respect each other's space but are open to connecting

- a cosy, lived-in home with a bit of personality, where the shared spaces feel welcoming and cared for

Private room lets, spare rooms, or straightforward arrangements directly with a landlord or existing household would be great. A minimum agreement is important to me, but I'm open to discussing the practicalities of the arrangement.

I'll be working part-time in Sheffield, while developing my independent work from home, so I'm looking for somewhere that is affordable and sustainable for me. Happy to be upfront about my circumstances and discuss suitable arrangements with anyone who thinks I might be a good fit.
