34 (F) | Londoner | Seeking a long-term nest ✨
Hi folks! ☀️
Thanks for checking out my profile!
My name’s Sarah. I’m a 34-year-old East Londoner looking for a comfortable place to call home. I work full-time Monday to Friday in student wellbeing at a central London university and occasionally pick up arts shifts at weekends, which keeps life varied and interesting. I’m hoping to move by the end of September/beginning of October.
I’ve been renting for around 15 years, both in the UK and France, and I’m looking for a home with people who value a positive, relaxed and respectful living environment.
I’m looking within London Zones 1–3, with a particular preference (as have lived in these areas before) for Central, East-Central, The City, East and South-East London, although I’d happily consider other parts of London for the right place.
I’d love to share with fellow millennials or people a little older than me, as I think we’re more likely to be at a similar stage of life. Ideally I'm looking for a smaller household with one or two other people (three in total, including myself).
While my preference is to live with fellow renters, I’d also be very happy to live with the right live-in landlady or non-binary homeowner. I’ve previously been a lodger on a number of occasions, including living in three households with children, so I’d be very comfortable living in a home with up to two children again. As I work in wellbeing and welfare at a university, I already hold an Enhanced DBS check so I would be happy to pass that along and be more than happy to provide a character reference from a previous landlady I lived with and her children if that would be helpful.
My budget is around £870 per month including bills, although I could stretch a little for the right home.
✨ A little about me ✨
I am a people person and friends would probably describe me as warm and a conversationalist as I love a good chat and getting to know people.
Outside of work, I have a full life and enjoy keeping busy. Whether I'm working on creative projects, studying, getting back into a swimming routine, heading off to a European city for a weekend or spending time with friends (and their very cute babies), I like making the most of my time.
Although I’m sociable, I’m also very independent and enjoy having my own routines and interests. I think one of the nice things about living in London is that everyone has their own lives, commitments and routines, and I really appreciate that balance.
For me, home is somewhere you can properly switch off at the end of the day, so finding the right atmosphere is just as important as finding the right room.
I’m looking for a house share where people are friendly, considerate and naturally enjoy each other’s company, without there being any expectation to socialise all the time. I’m always happy to have a chat, share a meal or simply catch up when we’re all around, but I equally value everyone having their own space, downtime and independence. For me, that creates a really relaxed and enjoyable home.
✨ Working pattern ✨
I usually work from the office three days a week and work from home on Mondays and Thursdays. On my WFH days, I work from a small laptop usually from my room, although I'm equally happy to work from the living room if that's suitable.
That said, I also work from co-working spaces from time to time. I completely understand that everyone has different preferences when it comes to working from home, so I’m always happy to chat about it.
✨ The kind of home I’m looking for ✨
I’m clean and tidy, particularly in communal areas, and I’m very community-minded. When I’m cleaning, I think about the shared space rather than just my own room because I believe everyone deserves to enjoy a home that feels comfortable and well looked after.
I'm big on communication and am mindful, respectful and patient. I really value a calm, peaceful home where everyone contributes, respects one another and feels comfortable doing their own thing while sharing the space well.
✨ A few other things ✨
🚭 I don’t smoke and would love a smoke-free home.
🥩🐟 Meat & fish eater
🐈 I’m a regular cat sitter and would be very happy living with a cat. I don’t have much experience living with dogs, so a cat household (or no pets) would probably suit me best.
🛏 I’ll be bringing my own mattress but would happily use a bed frame if one is available.
📚 I own a lot of books so I’m looking for a good-sized medium (with a decent amount of storage) or large room.
🏡 I also come with a Shark vacuum cleaner, a De'Longhi coffee machine and a Ninja air fryer.
Finally, I’m fully reference-ready with work contracts, passport, payslips and personal references all prepared and ready to hand over.
The above is really just a snapshot of who I am. I always think the best way to know whether people will get along is to have a chat, so I’m more than happy to arrange a quick phone or video call before viewing the room—it’s something I’ve done before and find that it works well.
💌 If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you!
I’ll be checking messages regularly and will get back to you as soon as I can.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Sarah😊
