Looking for a room in East London

Hi there! I’m Liam! I’m looking for a new place to call home. I’m 33, Welsh, and have lived in London for almost 10 years. I currently live in Brixton.

Logistics:

- Location: I’m looking to move back to East London. Areas that I’m interested in living in include Bethnal/Stepney Green, Hackney, Clapton, Walthamstow, Leyton.
- Property: Open to furnished and unfurnished.
- Flatmates: Preferably 1-2 maximum flatmates. More if those flatmates also happen to be feline!
- Budget: Around £800-£950 per month (not including bills).
- Dates: I’m looking for somewhere that’s available from mid-to-late October. I have flexibility around precise dates.

About Me:

I’m a Commercial Manager at an international development communications agency based in Central London. I usually work from the office Monday-Thursday, working from home on Fridays. I’m a bit of an early bird and am usually out of the house before 7am. I like to live in a home that’s welcoming and bright, and pride myself on keeping communal areas clean and homely. My weeknights are often spent at run clubs, dinners and drinks with friends, or going to the cinema. I spend weekends with friends, at festivals, day raves, or just at the pub. Outside of work my interests are fitness (including the gym, running, cycling, yoga), reading (I go through about 1-2 books a month), or going to concerts, festivals, or day raves. I’m gay and would love to live in a LGTBQ+ household, but that’s not a dealbreaker so long as you don’t ask to explain the hierarchy of bronze-silver-gold-platinum gays, we should be good.

I have a habit of ending up being friends that I live with, so hopefully that’s what you’re after too. I’m a believer in a harmonious house being that also acknowledges that a home should be a sanctuary, and sometimes you just need some quiet time to decompress.

Since moving to London 10 years ago, I’ve lived in shared houses. That’s a long time to learn how to become a friendly, courteous, and clean housemate. If that all sounds a bit dull, then you should know that my best friends in the entire world were met through Spare Room!
