Mancunian in London

Friendly Mancunian looking for a new place in London, having lived here for about nine years.

I'm preferably looking for a double room, and I'm open to a number of different locations. I've lived in Walthamstow for about 18 months now, but would like to seek a room slightly more central, or closer to friends. I'm open-minded in terms of location - I have lived in the East End before, which I loved, and I also like South/South West London (Vauxhall down to Brixton, say). I currently have to give two months notice to move, but would be happy with some overlap.

I like a relaxing vibe at home and enjoy sharing a space in a chilled way - I'm not personally one for house parties (though wouldn't object to them happening!), but love to be around others; to sit and read and chat in an unpressured way. It's important for me to have a bit of time to myself too, which I sometimes need to decompress. I work doing finance things for a law firm, and have to be in the office three times a week. I'm pretty open about who I'm sharing with, though it would be nice to live with other LGBT+ people. I've really enjoyed living with conscientious housemates up in Walthamstow, and I think that's the main quality I value and strive for. For me, that means checking in with each other, making shared decisions, and respecting each other's space while also valuing each other's company.

I love going out and exploring the city, both day and night, although I'm also inclined to lounge around listening to some music or reading a book. I spend a lot of my evenings at classical concerts, but recently have also felt the urge to start going out dancing again after a long hiatus 🎹🕺
