Friendly 33yo software engineer looking for a room

Hi everyone,

I'm Victor, a 33yo French software engineer working near Old Street. I’ve lived in London house shares for years and am looking for a new spot with a move-in date anytime between 1st November and 1st December (looking for 2–3 months minimum, but happy to stay long-term if it's the right fit).

A bit about me:

Routine: Standard office hours, commuting by bike. I work from the office almost every day—WFH maybe once a week at most.

At home: Easy-going, clean, and respectful of shared spaces. I’m definitely keen on a place where housemates actually get along and can become friend. Open for a casual pint, dinner, or the occasional techno gig. In the evenings (especially over winter), I also love quiet downtime in my room gaming with friends.

What I’m after:

Areas: Islington, Highbury, Dalston, Stoke Newington, Hackney, Lower Clapton, or Bethnal Green (ideally within a 10~20-minute cycle to Old Street).

Budget: Up to £1,500/month max (bills included preferred).

Room: A comfortable double room (an en-suite would be a massive plus, but not a dealbreaker).

Must-have: Somewhere safe to keep my bike indoors or in a secure spot.
