The flat summary:
Looking for a new friendly housemate for a room in a flat in Ashgrove, Aberdeen! Spacious room in a 3rd floor apartment with large lounge, bedroom, shared kitchen, bathroom and laundry room available. There is a small outside garden area with a compost heap we share and a large park right on the doorstep. The bedroom is furnished with a bed frame, mattress, small desk and chair. It has a large built-in cupboard and there is a small storage room as well to store larger items.
The flat is about 5 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop, 5 mins walk from the local Greens of Ashgrove and 10 mins walk from a big Sainsbury's. We're very close to the center of town via bus (10mins) or a 20 minute walk! There is also safe street parking available.
About you:
Looking for a creative, friendly, clean and considerate housemate, someone who would like to share a meal now and then and play games or watch a show in the lounge. I have lived in both kinds of flat shares, one in which we keep to ourselves and one where while we have a lot of time to ourselves we try to be more communal wherever possible. At this stage I'm definitely looking for the second kind as this suits my personality best. Must love cats as the house comes with an incredibly cute, quirky and talkative Siamese named Echo. You'd be living with one other person (plus a cat) - a musically-inclined 28 year old creative who is a masters graduate in video game composition and sound design and working as a freelancer. We love gaming, music, art, crafts in this household. We are neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ friendly and would love someone who aligns with that. Preferably someone around 23 - 33 and a working professional, not student (unless you have a UK guarantor/6 months worth of rent and agree to pay half of the council tax), but open to all applications.
The bills (these are all per person):
Rent: £283.25 per month (we know! we're so lucky to have such reasonable rent as we have a good relationship with the landlord)
Energy: £92 per month (this varies and we set the amount paid per month - ask for more info on this if you'd like)
Council tax share (Band B): £87 per month
Internet: £16.50 per month (900mb fiber line that is well suited to gamers and streamers).
Monthly recurring costs (amazon toilet paper recurring order etc.): £20 +/-
Misc. household supplies: under £5 (we don't buy these monthly).
Deposit:
£325 (please confirm this with rental agency when you make your application).
Some notes:
We add everything to our share tab on Monzo and sort out bills that way. Rent is due the 15th of every month and bills around the 27th/28th. We are on good terms with the landlord and letting agency and have had no problems with them. Please be aware you will have to provide documents about your income etc. to the agency.
Lease start date:
23 June 2025
So if you're interested, please reply to this advert saying a bit about you! What work you do, which Myers Briggs personality type you are, what you like doing for fun, your favourite show/game, anything so we can tell what kind of person you are. Looking forward to hearing from you!
