Contractor & Short Stays | Double & Single Rooms

Doubles are good-sized, with comfortable king sized beds, wardrobe, blackout curtains. Single has a folding desk, and is a cheerful and bright with black out blinds. Neither rooms are adjacent to any other bedrooms in the house.

The House – A welcoming home with three rooms dedicated to Guests, shared with a quiet resident couple, one small Chihuahua cross dog and a larger crossbreed. It’s a two-storey Victorian terraced townhouse with calm, bright décor, Wi-Fi, and a bright spacious bathroom.

The Area – West Reading is a vibrant, well-connected neighbourhood. Oxford Road (just 2 minutes’ walk) has everything you might need, including a small supermarket, a wide choice of restaurants and takeaways, and some lovely independent coffee shops. Kensington Park is nearby and great for a 1km run or a relaxed stroll in the fresh air.

Parking – You’re welcome to drop off your bags using the 2-hour free parking right outside the house, and then park long-term for free 5-10 minutes' walk away.

Transport – We’re a 5-minute walk from West Reading Station, and buses into central Reading take around 5 minutes. You can also enjoy a straight, 20–25 minute walk into town. Trains from Reading run frequently to Oxford, Windsor, and London Paddington—London is a 23-minute journey from Reading Station.

Reading University and the Madejski Stadium are a 12-minute drive away.

Reading Festival Grounds are a 20-minute walk or 5-minute drive.

Kitchen
The kitchen is available if you want to microwave ready meals etc but no heavy cooking please. (Exceptions can be made for specialist diets on request). You are welcome to use the washing machine, iron etc.

The Residents
Cathy grew up in a seaside hotel run by her parents, and now—having come full circle—we’re excited to welcome guests to our home. We’re happy to chat if we’re around, or leave you to enjoy peace and privacy—whichever you prefer.

Our dogs are very used to people coming and going. You’ll be asked to say hello and give them a chewy stick when you arrive (we’ll provide one!) so they know who you are.
