Hi there!
My housemate Jess and I are looking for a housemate to take the last room in this lovely house.
Move-in date: 22nd August onwards.
We're friendly, both 34-year-old working professionals looking for someone who wants to get on with their housemates—not just a room to sleep in! Don't get me wrong, we like our own space and have our own social lives, but it’s nice to have a homely feel where we sit around watching TV together sometimes or go for the odd pint down the local.
The Room & Storage
Fully furnished, the room is a medium double with a large built-in wardrobe.
Please note: As I have only recently bought this house, the new mattress is still on its way, hence the empty room photos—a full bed setup will be provided before move-in! If you need a bedside table, this can be provided too.
If you would like to put up pictures, shelving, or whatever—please do! It’s your room, so please make it your own. You also get a dedicated separate storage space outside your room (3m from your door) exclusively for your use.
The House
The house spans 4 storeys and consists of:
3 Bedrooms & 2.5 Bathrooms: 1 main large bathroom with bath and large shower, a separate downstairs toilet, plus an ensuite in my room. Essentially, you'll only share the main bathroom with Jess, with an additional toilet on top of that!
Living Space: A cosy living room (currently being set up, hence empty room photos).
Spare Room / Bike Storage: Used for storing bikes (2 spaces will be yours if needed). It also has a double air mattress set up if you have friends staying over!
Decking & Garden: One of the best features! The decking has awesome views across to Dundry Hill and is South-West facing (sun from late morning until sunset—great for BBQs with friends). Down a level on the hill, there is also a garden space.
Balcony: A separate small balcony one level up from the main decking with even better views.
Location (Walking distance to the very centre!)
30 min walk / 9 min cycle to City Centre & Temple Meads station
9 min walk to North St / East St (bars, shops, restaurants)
9 min walk to Victoria Park (lovely park)
4 min walk to Lidl
2 local pubs within a 5-minute walk
About Us:
Jess: Works for Lloyds. Into surfing, gravel biking, yoga, gym, and anything outdoorsy!
Ollie (me): Similarly outdoorsy, currently into running and mountain biking. I run my own Christmas tree business full-time (which I've had for 15 years).
Nugget: Jess’s scruffy, very endearing Jack Russell! She’s very well-trained, acts half like a cat, and loves pottering about for a cuddle or just doing her own thing.
Jess and I were housemates in our previous place which was a house share. I bought this house a few weeks ago and seeing as we got on really well and she was looking for a change she agreed to move in too! We like to have a laugh and go out fairly often, either seeing friends or doing evening activities. We’re both quite tidy and respect shared spaces, so we’re looking for someone along similar lines!
Rent & Bills
Rent: £610/month (excl. bills)
Bills: Estimated at £225/month max (giving a worst-case scenario while we settle in, so total budget is £835/month).
Bills cover: Council Tax, Gas, Electricity, Water, Broadband, TV Licence, a monthly cleaner, and £10 towards shared household items (toilet roll, cleaning products, etc.).
Perks: I also cover Netflix, Prime, and Disney+, which you're welcome to use on your own laptop/phone too.
If this sounds like somewhere you’d love to live, drop us a line! Please include a little description about yourself, what you do, and your general vibe.
Cheers,
Ollie
