An older lady with a little reduced mobility and memory is seeking a Sharer for her home to offer a little practical help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

She would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around her home in the evenings and overnight. She would also appreciate a little general practical help around the home such as picking up hopping, cooking a few meals each week, light cleaning and tidying, carrying heavier items, diary reminders, simple IT, and other ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The lady has a sweet cat, and has had many lodgers over the years so is used to sharing her home. Please note that she smokes – but not heavily and usually smokes outside and never in communal areas. Her previous lodgers have all been non-smokers.

The accommodation on offer is a large bedroom, furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers, bedside table, desk and chair. There is a rail for clothes. The lady has her own en suite, so the Sharer has main use of a large downstairs bathroom (bath and separate shower cubicle) which is only used by the occasional visitor. The Sharer also has shared use of the kitchen, sitting room and garden.

The property is located in the Downend area of Bristol (close to Fishponds) and near bus routes. There is parking. It’s approx. 40 mins to the city centre by public transport, or an 18-minute drive.

A retied organic farmer and psychotherapist, the lady is an interesting person, who takes an interest in the news and current affairs, enjoys travel programmes and gardening, and acrylic and oil-painting. She also speaks fluent Spanish having lived in Spain for many years.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time (up to 15 hours per week in a mix of practical help plus a little company) to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the lady’s interests.
