Sunny double available in Redfield / Whitehall

Hello all,

I'm Jed, and I'm looking for someone to take the spare room in my lovely little house just off Church Road. My friend's lived here for the past year but has gone and bought their own place (very happy for them, slightly gutted for me), so the room's up for grabs.

The location
It's a 25 minute walk into town, 10 to St Mark's Road, 5 to St George's Park and 2 to Church Road, so you're never far from a coffee, a pastry or a pint.

The room
It's a good-sized double with room for a double bed, a wardrobe and a desk if you need one. It looks out over the back garden, so you can watch the neighbourhood cats on their escapades.

The house

An open-plan living and dining room that gets sun pretty much all day, with a big TV and a dining table that seats six.

One shared bathroom upstairs, with a bath and shower.

The kitchen does the job but it's on the cosy side. So, you'll need to be fine with our tins and jars mingling. There's fridge and freezer space for your bits.

The garden is south-facing, Mediterranean-style patio that's a real suntrap. It has a fire pit, garden furniture, festoon lights, secure bike storage and herb garden you're welcome to raid.

About me
I'm 34 and work in marketing. I'm WFH 2–3 days a week, so if you work from home too, I'd ask that you do it from your room. That way downstairs stays a place to switch off rather than an open-plan office.

Outside work I'm into cooking, running, the sauna and the pub, plus the occasional big night out (increasingly occasional these days as I become more of a doddering old man).

Who I'm looking for
Someone after a calm, chilled home to unwind in, away from the chaos and the noise. The house isn't massive, so you'll need to be comfortable sharing space. My last housemate and I ended up cooking for each other 2-3 times a week, but no pressure if you'd rather do your own thing!

I like a tidy house, so please wash up after yourself rather than leaving dishes to ferment on the side. In return, I'm looking into getting a weekly cleaner for the shared areas (hoovering, bathroom, wiping down the kitchen) so nobody has to argue over a rota.

Rent is £650 a month bills included, room offered unfurnished. But if you need any furniture I can put you in touch with some great second hand shops who will be able to help.
