For the sake of transparency, the bills currently come to ~ £210/month:

Internet: Fast Youfiber (150/150 MBPS) £28/month (£14 each)
Gas/Elec (Jul to Dec average): £110/month (£55 each)
Council tax (band B): £173/month (£86.50 each)
Water: We're on a meter, so bills can't get any cheaper. Last 6 months were £27/month (£13.50 each)
Cleaner: Shared areas, 2hrs per visit, twice per month. £108/month (£54 each)

I also get regualr oat-milk and veg box deliveries that you'd be more than welcome to join in with!

** Description of the house and room **

The house is a 2-bed Victorian terrace 2-up 2-down, with basement and garden access. The soon to be available room is a small/medium sized double (Bedroom 2 on plan, 2.6m x 3.6m).

Bedroom 2 was redecorated in Feb-2026. Currently furnished with double bed, chest of drawers, Kalax unit, clothes rail etc. This can be removed if required.

The whole house includes sitting room/lounge, kitchen/diner, shared bathroom, basement rooms with plenty of space for storage, and garden access. Secure bike storage in basement, and access to garden via back alleyway.

Parking available on street, no permits required.

15 min walk to Kings Chase shopping centre, 20 min walk to Fishponds central.

5 mins cycle from the Bristol-Bath cycle path, 15 mins cycle to the centre of Old Market.

Busses 6/7 have stops within 5 mins walk, busses 41/42/43 are 10 mins walk away.

Tier e-scooters/bikes within 4 minutes too.

I'm a 36 y/o man (he/him), I work in Old Market Mon-Fri and cycle in daily. I'm almost entirely plant-based in my diet at home, however don't mind you cooking as you like. My partner stays over regularly too, and when they're round you'll usually find us making fancy pour over coffee, cooking together, or working our way through a TV series in the front room. I love live music and festivals (rock, metal, alt, metalcore etc.), gardening (can provide fresh allotment veg!), cooking, and have been known to be fit and active. I enjoy company, and value my own space too. I have lived most of my life with dogs/cats/horses, but currently without any pets (although I'm investigating adopting a cat). Very happy to welcome fluffy friends into the house.

My current lodger is purchasing a flat, and will be moving out when that has finalised. I’m looking for someone to ideally join my house on a long-term basis. I’m looking for someone who is:

Clean and considerate: happy to share chores and keep the place homely, but not obsessive about it.
Respectful of privacy: I enjoy company (chatting over coffee, cooking, or watching a series together), and I also value quiet downtime and space.
Settled and reliable: ideally in work or studies, with your rent/bills covered without stress.
Good with communication: it’s important to me that house stuff (guests, chores, bills) can be talked about openly and easily. I value direct and clear communication and to know sooner rather than later when something is not working for you. I am a sensitive human and I value being able to talk about things in a gentle and open way.
Pet-friendly: I may adopt a cat while you’re here, so you’d need to be okay with furry housemates.

WFH is welcome, as are pets you may bring with you.

Sex positive household, hes shes and theys are all welcome equally.

Safe space for neurodiverse adults too.
