Hello, we're (Ell and Emily) looking for 2 new housemates to replace our 2 dear friends who are excitingly moving to London!
We’re keen to meet people quickly as we’re both away at various points over the next few weeks. The rooms will be available from the 1st September.
🏡 About the flat
The flat is a lovely two-storey maisonette on North Street in the heart of Southville, right next to Tobacco Factory and a 3 min walk to Greville Smyth park. It used to be two separate flats, now combined into a single maisonette above a shop. This means that we have 2 kitchens and 2 bathrooms between the four of us! You'll each share a kitchen with one of us - Emily is veggie, Ell is not. If you have a car, there’s free on-street parking on the side roads surrounding the flat.
🛌 About the rooms
Room 1 is a small (but cosy and bright) double room, with a big window looking out on to North Street. Whilst the room will come unfurnished (the furniture in the photos, including the bed, will be removed) there is a built-in cupboard/storage space that will remain. The rest of the flat is fully furnished by us already.
Room 2 is bigger, with the same view as Room 1 as they're next door to each other. Also unfurnished, it has built-in storage near the bed, as pictured above. It's bright and airy with 2 large windows.
📝 About us
The two of us are young professionals in their mid-20s - one working in a library and one for a sustainability charity. Emily works from home a lot, and we have a group of local friends who sometimes co-work in the living room or at Tobacco Factory. We like to have our own space but equally enjoy catching up in the communal areas when we’re feeling sociable. We're reasonably clean and tidy, but not super anal. We like a pub trip and having friends over, but we both work a typical 9-5 with Ell working some weekends, so would suit someone on a similar schedule. Emily is into sustainability, working with kids and converting her van Wilma. Ell enjoys wild swimming, heritage and trying new things.
📌Who we’re looking for
We’d be keen to find another young professional in their 20s (preferably female or non-binary) to move in with us. We’re all pretty chilled and easy-going and are looking for someone who would be the same. Someone who’s fairly clean and tidy would be ideal. We'd like our new housemates to become friends and hang out, but no pressure to be here all the time. (Bonus points if you play tennis as Ell would like to learn!)
💰Rent & bills
We rent from a private landlord we found through OpenRent. He’s nice, reliable and lives locally but doesn't pop in often.
Bills (water, electricity, council tax band B, WiFi): Around £110 per person per month, but as always it varies.
