We have a lovely room available in our friendly shared house, which is near the station and Mill Road. The room is very small, and has a single bed, bookcase and desk (there's also space under the bed and there's a small bookcase outside the room). There's lots of communal space as the house is quite big - we have a large kitchen, sitting room and garden. The room is light and gets the afternoon sun.

The house is generally a friendly and welcoming place to be. We have a cat, and there is a piano for everyone to play. We have a lovely garden with flowers and vegetables.

Currently there are three of us: an academic, a somelier, and me - I am a tutor/counsellor (I am also the landlady).

We are looking for someone with experience of living in shared houses, who is aware of things like not being too noisy when others are sleeping, tidying up in the kitchen etc. I am vegetarian, so vegetarians and vegans are very welcome, but it's not a vegetarian house.

We are very near the station, and not far from town (15 minutes by bike, and there's bike parking at the front of the house). There is usually plenty of on street parking if you have a car. It's a fairly quiet neighbourhood, and there is a food shop and a park less than 5 minutes walk away.

Rent is £500 which is made up of £420 rent and £80 bills. In the winter the bills often come to a bit more as we use more energy.

If you've read this far, then there's a bit more to say - for the right person, rent will be half what is quoted here, in exchange for looking after the cat and plants for about 2 to 3 weeks while I am away. The other housemates will be around, but you would have the main responsibility. This will involve getting up early to open up the conservatory and greenhouse, watering plants in the conservatory, greenhouse, veg beds and pots (takes about 30 minutes per day), feeding the cat, empyting the litter tray, having an awareness of where the cat is (so she doesn't get locked in a hot conservatory), and providing lots of cat cuddles. Please mention if this is of interest and your experience in relation to cats and plants in your message - people who do this will get much higher priority!

We usually meet people once or twice before offering the room, so you need to be able to come to meet us (no online interviews, sorry). Thanks!

If you feel this could be a good fit, we look forward to meeting you!
