Double room in friendly house

Hello there!

I’m looking for a kind, friendly, calm housemate to take my spare room. It’s a fully furnished room, with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers. Bed linen and towels also available on request (no extra cost). I’m open to short-term stays, long-term stays and Monday to Friday arrangements.

About the location
i live in a peaceful part of Ely. It’s less than 5 mins to the station – so it’s super handy if you want to commute to Cambridge, London or beyond. There are lots of lovely restaurants and bars very nearby along the river. It's also just 10 mins to the market square at the centre of Ely.

About the house
The shared space includes a kitchen and conservatory (which is set up as a dining space).
There’s a green, peaceful garden with table and chairs. There’s also a separate garden studio.

The main bathroom is on the ground floor, not on the same floor as your bedroom. It has a bath, with a shower attachment (for sit-down showers). There’s also a standard shower in the garden room, which means going outside. You’re welcome to use both/either. It’s not a conventional set-up – if you like the sound of the house generally, you’re welcome to come round and check if this will work for you.

The costs include all bills, e. g. gas and electricity, water, council tax and internet., as well as a fortnightly cleaner.

About me
I moved to Ely from London a few years ago, and really enjoy living here. I work as a storyteller and communications specialist. I work from home some of the time, and would prefer to share with someone who works out of the house some or all of the time.

I’ve lived in many house shares before - I appreciate clear communication, good boundaries, and friendly connection. It’d be nice to chat a little, and maybe share an occasional meal, as well as having our own space. I don’t drink alcohol, but it’s not a problem if you do. I’m looking to live with someone who’s relaxed, friendly and emotionally mature.

NB My (male) partner comes to stay a few weekends a month, and I go to visit him the other weekends. So some weekends there’ll be an extra person in the house, and some weekends you’ll have the house to yourself.

The room is available from late June with viewings from mid June onwards.
