Peaceful village house near Addenbrookes & rail station (5mins to Cambridge by rail; 1hr 20mins to London Liverpool St). Buses and N11 bike route (10mins Addenbrookes/25mins to central Cambridge).

3 upstairs bedrooms: 2 large rooms (furnished or semi-furnished) & 1 small room (furnished) to let in a quiet 1930s semi-detached house in Great Shelford that backs onto fields. Will suit those who enjoy nature & peaceful surroundings; a quiet place to come home to after work. One large bedroom at back, with morning sunshine and views over garden and fields; other large one at front with evening sunshine and view over front garden. Small bedroom with view over front garden.

Shared bathroom upstairs (shower, bath, toilet, airing cupboard); plus downstairs toilet & washbasin. Downstairs: sunny kitchen (gas cooker, oven & microwave, fridge); shared living room (front, evening sun); & sun room/utility room (back; with washing machine & extra food prep space).

Locked undercover storage for bikes. Extra fridge-freezer and freezer in garage.

Small front and large back garden (with patio, lawn & fruit trees). Off-road parking for 2 cars (mine occupies one of these spaces; there is also on-road parking, if more needed).

Shared bills included in rent (including gas, electric and water, the band D Council tax, broadband). Cost of weekly cleaner to be shared 4-ways among occupants, if needed. (Not currently needed.)

I (the sometimes live-in landlord) am a researcher/lecturer—I am away for much of the year for work, but like to chat over a coffee when I am around. Looking for responsible lodgers, who can help look after the place (and will keep it clean and tidy, etc.) when I'm not there—which is approximately 9 months a year, usually for a fortnight at a time, sometimes for a month. My family live a few doors down and can help, in case of problems, when I'm not in the UK.

I'd prefer lodgers who can commit for 3 months or longer (but willing to consider other arrangements). Couples welcome to apply, but I would expect you to take two rooms (which will give you lots of space).

Not suitable for people who play loud music, as the shared walls with our quiet neighbour are a bit thin! (With headphones, fine.)
