The room is a beautiful and quiet space at the top of the house. It is furnished (non-negotiable), with a double bed (black frame same as single bed), double mattress, large mat, a side table and a sofa bed (not table and chairs as in pic).
There is a second washroom upstairs the is just for top-floor use. There is a hanging rail behind a curtain and a large chest of drawers on the landing which can be used as well.
There is extra storage under the bed, and space downstairs for bikes, boards etc.
About you:
I am looking for a nice, reliable professional to live in my house, with my current flatmate, who is a professional in his late 20s.
6months+ rental:
The contract is for 6 months minimum, with 1 month rolling contract afterwards. Extensions possible if it suits everyone (last 2 housemates stayed 1 year +).
Location
It's a great location, being a 1-min walk from the Co-op (open 7am til 11pm, Monday to Sunday), and also walking-distance into the countryside. It's also a great location in mid-Cornwall, being 20min drive to Padstow, Wadebridge and Newquay, about 25-30min to Truro, and 10min off the A30 (obviously longer in summer).
Parking
Much like other places in central town, there isn't allocated parking, but you can always park outside to load/unload things, and then find a space in town or a coupla mins walk down the hill. Being in central and 1min to the shops, offsets the parking walk.
Beach/Gym
The nearest beach is Watergate Bay (15mins), and Newquay, Mawgan Porth + Harlyn Bay are 20mins. If you like the gym, it's about 7min to Atlantic Reach or 10min to Jetts in Quintrell.
Shared areas
The shared space is the scandi-beach style kitchen/living room, which is the heart of the home, with 2 comfy sofas (with blankets), table & chairs, and a well-equipped kitchen. There is a large fridge/freezer, microwave, and washing machine & dryer.
There is also a hall/entrance room which is largely used for storage. Bikes/surfboards etc also welcomed here.
The bathroom has a bath & shower (good pressure).
The house has been successfully rented as an Airbnb for 4 summers, so it is decorated to a good standard, and has been much appreciated.
Price/bills etc
The price is £500 for a single person (couples not considered) and this includes most bills - council tax, broadband, water.
The only exception is the gas/electric bill, because the bills add up due to single glazing/grade 2 listed house. It is absolutely essential that the house is kept warm and ventilated over the winter months, and therefore heating bills are around £150-200 per month, split between the two housemates, so £75-100 each.
In the summer it's usually £50-75 total and the energy supplier is Good Energy.
References required, and 1 month deposit.
About you
Professional, 30-50 preferred. Self-contained, but happy to chat/socialise sometimes. Clean, tidy, respectful non-smoker. No pets. I will be living away so quick/good communications is essential please.
Priority to people already living in Cornwall for 4+ years.
