My Spare Bedroom

Room in Peak District (bills included) - commutable to Manchester. Looking for someone quiet and considerate to share my house with. I have a spare double bedroom to rent in my gritstone terrace house in New Mills. I am very much into the outdoors and work abroad a lot, so for much of the year you have the whole house to yourself (in exchange for keeping my plants alive!). The bedroom is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe and bedside cabinets, and there is a large storage cupboard. Shared bathroom, kitchen and sitting room. It's a very short walk to both railway stations (one goes to Manchester and Buxton, the other to Manchester and Sheffield). Manchester airport is 12 miles away, and there's boat-parking on the canal. Very close to shops.

New Mills is a small traditional peak town with independent village shops, built above a beautiful gorge (the Torrs), and overlooked by the Peak District hills. It has great rail and road links to Manchester, Stockport and Buxton.

Would suit someone who enjoys the outdoors – there is lots of walking, climbing and cycling on the doorstep. I am fairly easy going and would like someone similar who enjoys cooking, eating, a drink and a chat, as well as the outdoors, and who can water my plants and gorilla-garden when I am away.

Rent is per month in advance. Rent includes bills (tax, gas and electricity). No smokers please.

Deposit is one month's rent in advance.
