The Room

Large double bedroom available on the second floor of a spacious 6-bedroom house.

The room is partially furnished with:

Double bed
Desk
Wardrobe
Chest of drawers

There's also a good amount of storage space, and if you need any additional furniture we're happy to help pick some up.

Bathroom

The room has access to a newly refurbished bathroom that's shared with just one other bedroom.

At the moment, you'll actually have the bathroom to yourself. Once my sister has moved the rest of her belongings out of the room opposite, we'll be looking for another housemate, but the bathroom will always be shared between a maximum of two people.

Whoever moves into this room will also be involved in choosing who rents the room opposite—we'd much rather make sure everyone gets on than simply fill the room as quickly as possible.

The house also has four toilets, so even if your main bathroom is occupied there's almost always another one available.

The House

The house has:

Large living/dining room with sofa and TV
Sunny garden
Downstairs WC
Upstairs bathroom and additional toilet
Plenty of shared living space
Garage storage for reasonable items (such as a bike)

The front living room isn't a shared space, as it's my own room/man cave.

The house is on Winston Road, around a 3-minute walk from the Asda petrol station, with good access to local bus routes.

Parking

There's generally plenty of on-street parking.

If having a driveway space is important to you, this can be arranged for an additional monthly cost, as one of us would need to give up our allocated space.

Current Housemates

There are currently two of us living here (26 and 28).

One housemate works as a teaching assistant at Linwood School. I'm currently between jobs and doing a bit of everything, so some weeks I'm rarely home and other weeks I work from home. I'm generally out for most of the weekend.

We're both pretty laid back. We like to socialise from time to time, and we occasionally have friends over for a BBQ or a few drinks (usually around once a month), but it's definitely not a party house. Most of the time everyone just gets on with their own thing.

Cleanliness & House Standards

All bills are included, along with a cleaner who comes every Monday.

The cleaner is there to help keep the shared areas looking their best—not to wash up dirty pans, clear rubbish or tidy up after people. We simply ask that everyone cleans up after themselves and leaves the shared spaces how they'd like to find them.

Nobody expects perfection. We all occasionally leave a mug on the side or forget something now and then. What we're looking for is someone who is naturally clean, respectful and takes responsibility for their own mess.

One thing that's worth mentioning is that this is our family home, so we're quite attached to it and take pride in looking after it. I do most of the gardening, decorating, maintenance and deep cleaning myself, so we try to keep the house in really good condition. We're looking for someone who'll appreciate that and treat it as a home rather than just somewhere to sleep.

The most important thing to us isn't your job or your hobbies—it's that you're respectful, considerate and easy to live with.
