Hello!!

So, I have a modest-sized, charming Hove flat, located in a glorious period building. My two-bedroom flat is on Holland Road - bright, well positioned and full of character!

There is a spare room which has previously been used as a home salon for my partner, but she has recently moved out, so I’m now looking to utilise the room to help cover some of the costs. I’m listing the room at a very good price for the right person. The price includes all bills, council tax and internet.

The reasons why I’ve kept the price so low are as follows:

1. I’m looking for more of a lodging arrangement than a traditional flatmate. Ideally, I’m looking for someone who’s happy doing their own thing and enjoys having their own space. You’ll obviously have full use of the kitchen and bathroom, but this isn’t really a house for regular visitors or parties. It’s a cosy, peaceful home.

2. I am initially, preferably looking for a female, as it’s what I’ve always been used to. With it being a cosy flat, another male may make it feel a little tight. I’ve always lived with females – family, friends and partners – and just think a mix of energy works well.

About me…

I’m Laurence - a very friendly, very busy and energetic chap. I’m a university lecturer, production manager, tour a lot with work, and own my own music studio in town. Due to working in education, my DBS check is robust and up to date!

I work different hours every day, travel a lot with work, and love to unwind with a sea swim followed by a cosy pub. I’m a typical creative and tend to work late from my studio when I’m making music. I always need half an hour to unwind, no matter how late I get in, so comedy and a herbal tea in the living room is a nightly routine. That being said, I’m very respectful, don’t play the TV or music loudly (I have the studio for that!), love to cook, and enjoy a chilled Sunday.

We’re on the top floor and have access to a beautiful roof terrace.

In terms of the ideal lodger…

I’m very open-minded and welcome all nationalities, orientations and backgrounds. For me, it’s much more about personality and energy. Someone who’s positive, productive, easy-going, considerate and enjoys life would be ideal.
