Double Room in Hanover, Brighton

Hey there,

Last year I finally jumped onto the housing ladder for the first time, and after several months of DIY and building work, I’ve now got a spare room that I’m looking to rent out.

The house is based on a pretty street in Hanover in Brighton, with both a front garden and back yard; and is just 12 minutes-walk to the train station (and 20 minutes-walk to the sea-front). The neighbours are all lovely and there is a positive, community spirit on the street (with an active WhatsApp group).

The room itself is on the lower floor, and has been completely renovated, including new walls and new flooring; and is fully-furnished. There is a new King size bed (160x200cm), complete with new bedding and a brand new ‘Emma UK Premium PRO mattress’, with room to walk round both sides of the bed. There is also shelving, a desk, (with swivel chair), a large cupboard; and a comfy chair. Just outside the room there is an additional double-wardrobe and a shoe-storage unit.

The bedroom is next door to the main bathroom for the house, which includes toilet, sink, a bath (with shower) and more shelving. (NB. I also have a separate toilet next to my bedroom upstairs).

On the ground floor there is a good-sized lounge and dining room (all open plan), leading through to a large kitchen and back yard.

It’s an LGBT household and I'm looking for a friendly natured guy, who is clean and tidy; and who enjoys their own space, whilst also being up for the occasional social activity together (eg. dinner party, film night, night out, etc).

I work for NHS England, and I work from home three days a week (my desk is in my bedroom), and I commute into London the other two days, (when I’m out the house between 6am-6pm). It’s therefore vital that you appreciate the importance of the working week

I consider myself a friendly guy, usually smiling and respectful of others. I love films, good cooking (and wine), and the odd night out. I’ve just started getting back into the gym in the evenings; and at weekends I’m often doing more stuff on the house, paintbrush in hand!

The room is available now; and rent is £850 per month (including all bills); and the advance deposit is £450. The house has high-speed internet (Gig1 Fibre Broadband), and I’m signed up to most of the key TV channels (Netflix, Disney+, Paramount, Prime, NOW TV).
