En suite room available in friendly peaceful flat

Hi, I'm Harley, I'm 34 and looking for a new housemate for a two bedroom basement flat on Brunswick Road. The rent is £800, the bills currently come to just under £200 but if I was to share with another student would be less (£100, due to not paying council tax).

The room is a double room with an ensuite bathroom, overlooking a small private courtyard. There is a spacious living room and kitchen that is a little small but fine for two :) The room itself is unfurnished but there is existing furniture in the living room. There will be space for a desk if you need to work from home. It is only a couple of minutes walk from a bus stop and all amenities on Western Road, less than ten minutes to the beach, and fifteen to the Churchill shopping centre. In spite of that the road itself is quite peaceful.

I'm a mature PhD student at Brighton University working on a project about protest rights in the UK. In my spare time I enjoy reading, yoga, being out in nature, activism, and festivals. I would ideally like to have a friendly housemate relationship where we spend some time together, sometimes sharing cooking or watching a film, but also respect each others space and downtime. I'm veggie/vegan and queer, but you don't have to be.

I live with chronic illness and so really value the flat being a quiet and peaceful place to rest, recharge and get a decent amount of sleep. I also value a clean flat and a proactive approach to sharing jobs to keep on top of it.

I come with a friendly and sweet and friendly cat, Peanut, so any housemates would have to be okay with having a pet. Any questions feel free to ask, and if this seems like a good fit for you it would be lovely to find a time to meet and view the place.
