Looking for a friendly new housemate to share my Brighton flat!

The flat 🏡

The flat is in a really central location, less than a 5-minute walk from the Old Steine and around 15 minutes on foot from Brighton station, so it’s ideal for getting around the city and making the most of everything Brighton has to offer.

The flat is accessed through a locked gate into a courtyard, with the front door on the ground floor. There’s a hallway with space for bikes, then stairs up to the open-plan living room and kitchen on the second floor, followed by another flight of stairs to the bedrooms and shared bathroom.

The living room is light and airy, with large windows, a sofa, TV, dining table and chairs, plus some extra storage. The kitchen has everything you need, including an oven, electric hob, fridge, freezer and washing machine/dryer, along with plenty of cupboard space.

The bathroom has a lovely skylight bringing in natural light and a good-sized shower.

The flat overlooks a pub, so there’s a bit of life and activity outside, but the available bedroom is at the back of the flat, overlooking a courtyard and neighbouring flats, away from the pub.

There’s also an additional ground-floor storage room which could be useful for storing extra bits and pieces.

The room 🛏️

The room is a good-sized double and comes unfurnished, so you can make it your own. It’s carpeted and has a mirror, two small shelves and a window overlooking the courtyard and neighbouring flats.

Rent and bills 💸

The rent and bills, including Wi-Fi, come to roughly £860 per month, a little less in summer and a little more in winter.

A little bit about me 🌿

Hey! I’m a friendly, creative and easy-going person who enjoys a mixture of socialising and having my own space.

I love painting and drawing, cats, nature walks, exploring new places, cooking, reading and watching films. I’m also currently trying to learn to roller skate, so that’s a new hobby in progress! I enjoy going for a drink, having friends over occasionally and generally making the most of my free time.

At home, I like a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere where you can have a chat in the kitchen or watch a film together, but equally feel completely comfortable doing your own thing. I like to keep the flat reasonably tidy without being overly house-proud, and I think it’s important that everyone feels at home and has their own space and privacy.

I’m currently between jobs after working for a bubble company over the summer, and I’m planning to start teacher training next year, so my work routine may change in the meantime.

I’m looking for someone friendly, considerate and easy-going who would be happy to socialise now and then, but also respects each other’s space. It would be lovely to find someone who feels like a housemate rather than just someone you happen to share a flat with, without any pressure to do everything together!
