This furnished double room has been very mindfully decorated in pale blue and white so that stress levels drop as soon as you walk in the door.
The room measures 3m70 x 3m, contains white shelves, a single desk & chair and a double bed with gas lift ottoman storage. There is an very large built-in wardrobe (inset into wall) containing a big chest of drawers, 2 hanging rails, lots of large deep shelves and a large space at the bottom that will take a suitcase or tall boots & shoes.
The room is south facing with panoramic views across Downside & onto the South Downs. It gets the sun all afternoon and evening.
The room is fitted with venetian blinds which filter the light brilliantly - however this is not a room that can be 'blacked out'. You're welcome to have your own television in the room, but there isn't one provided.
The bathroom is immediately opposite (just 2/3 steps across the corridor), which is newly renovated and has been finished to a very high standard. You would have not have exclusive use of the bathroom as it is the only bathroom in the house with a bath, but the family do tend to use a different bathroom at the moment.
You may have to share your bathroom with another lodger in the future as another room is being made ready to let, plus there are the weeks when my daughter visits from university. p. s. I can't put a smaller bed in the room as it belongs to my daughter and she's at uni for another 4 years!
There is a shared kitchen with a range cooker, a communal dining room (with comfortable upholstered chairs - not the ones pictured!) and you have use of the garden, the outdoor patio seating and dining table.
Utilities = Washer/dryer, Heated Airer, plus outdoor washing line.
There isn't use of a shared living room at the moment, but the dining room is a lovely comfortable communal space with fantastic views.
The whole house is furnished to give a very calming zen feel throughout, and I'm looking for a professional female who values quiet and calm, cleanliness and tidiness.
I live alone with my 16 year old son who is quiet, studious, (owns headphones) and keeps himself to himself.
I would require therefore that you don't have anyone over.
We are a musical household (though honestly we don't play much AT ALL, there's just no time these days); there is an upright piano and a drum-kit so musicians are welcome but practice times would be by arrangement.
As to how much we're home? We are both very busy with work and study but we are around most of the time.
I am looking for someone who I'm able to get on with but also who understands that everyone needs their own space.
I would describe myself as an academic/professional type: calm, more introvert than extrovert, kind, patient. Drink on occasion/special occasions only. I've got a lot of work and study on at the moment, so I don't go out much. Enjoy winding down with local walking, a jog if I'm feeling up to it, or watching a film/Walter Presents. I speak several languages including French (bilingual) & Spanish (Intermediate); enjoy language exchange.
Looking for household harmony and mutual respect :)
