About the Host
I’m a former artist and filmmaker trained at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art, later spending 13 years working in technology, including at the Financial Times. I now run a quiet, creative, female‑hosted home and enjoy welcoming thoughtful, professional guests from a range of backgrounds.
Garden Suite Summary
A peaceful, self‑contained Garden Suite ideal for visiting academics, medics, creatives, language students, and professionals on sabbatical or temporary placement.
Located moments from Eastbourne Station, this private suite offers a calm, beautifully curated space with its own entrance, garden outlook, and a dry kitchenette for simple meals.
The Space
You’ll have a private garden‑level suite with:
- your own entrance
- a comfortable double bed
- a dining/work table
- a cushioned director’s chair for relaxing, plus a separate dining/work chair
- microwave, kettle, fridge, and basic crockery
- views onto a quiet patio garden (which you’re welcome to enjoy)
It’s a perfect retreat for writing, research, rest, or creative work.
Book Exchange
By the suite entrance there’s a small Book Exchange - feel free to take a book or leave one for the next guest.
Kitchen & Laundry
This is a dry kitchenette setup - ideal for simple breakfasts and light meals using the microwave, kettle, and fridge.
You’re welcome to pop into the main kitchen briefly to wash dishes or use the sink, but there is no cooking or food storage in the main kitchen.
I’m happy to wash your bed linens and towels for you.
For personal laundry, there are excellent launderettes just up the road - I can share a list of reliable local options.
Bathroom
The toilet and shower are shared with the female host.
They are kept clean and used respectfully.
House Rhythm
This is a quiet, female‑hosted home.
The suite is for single occupancy only and not suitable for couples.
Visitors are welcome with prior notice, but this is not a drop‑in household.
If I’m around, you’re welcome to join me for a coffee in the garden or kitchen.
