Comfortale room in a peaceful family home

We are a friendly, professional family — a teacher and an IT professional — looking for a clean, considerate and responsible lodger to share our home with us.

We take pride in keeping our home peaceful, clean and welcoming, and we are looking for someone who would enjoy and respect the same kind of environment.

The room is on the first floor and is suitable for one person. It is fully furnished with a small double bed, TV, wardrobe, small fridge/freezer, desk and mirror, providing a comfortable and private space.

The first-floor bathroom is shared with the household. We mainly use the shower, so the lodger has use of the full bathroom facilities and, in practice, the bathroom is available to them most of the time.

We are ideally looking for a professional lodger who works full-time and has a busy routine outside the home. As this is a shared family home, we would ideally suit someone who mainly needs the kitchen for light meals and occasional cooking.

Location

The house is located on Victoria Avenue, just a few steps from Priory Park. Lidl is nearby, along with a good selection of takeaways and local amenities.

It is approximately a 20-minute walk to Southend town centre, with Prittlewell Station nearby and several bus routes in the surrounding area.

The Home

As we live in the property ourselves, we value privacy and a peaceful home environment. We therefore ask that there are no parties, smoking, overnight guests or visitors.

The room is for the lodger’s sole use, and no other person may stay in, use or access the room or property without our prior agreement.

Pets

We are animal lovers and are happy to consider a well-behaved pet, provided the pet is clean, well cared for, non-aggressive and non-reactive, and suitable for living in a shared home. This would need to be agreed in advance.

If you have a dog and occasionally need help with walks, we may be able to take your dog for a walk for £20 per walk, subject to availability and prior agreement.

Any pet must not cause excessive noise, disturb the household or cause damage to the property. The lodger will be responsible for any damage caused by their pet.

Application & Deposit

If you are interested in the room, we will require proof of ID and references before agreeing to the lodger arrangement.

A deposit is required in advance, together with the first month’s rent.
