We are looking for a mature, friendly and reliable person to share the home of an intelligent, lively older woman with a love of books, conversation and the quiet beauty of the countryside. In exchange for low cost accommodation, we ask that you offer around 10 hours of support each week and provide a reassuring overnight presence when her son is away. We carry out detailed interviews, references and a DBS check.
Please read the Homeshare West website before enquiring to ensure you fully understand the requirements. You must be employed and, where relevant, have the Right to Reside in the UK.
Support would include occasional cooking and shared meals, light housework such as hoovering and dusting, keeping basic groceries topped up, and offering companionship, especially around teatime. Some local outings or short drives would be appreciated, and there may be opportunities for longer drives by arrangement. Someone who enjoys reading, good conversation, and a peaceful rural setting would be a great fit.
Homesharing is a lifestyle choice suited to considerate, grounded people who have the energy and willingness to offer support at the end of their working day. If you enjoy shared meals, stimulating conversation, and being part of someone’s life in a positive and meaningful way, we’d love to hear from you.
