Flexible let, beautiful home in Harold Wood

We’re a gay professional couple with a young child, and we’ll be travelling for five weeks. While we’re away, we’re looking for a friendly and considerate person or couple to stay in our home.

We care about social justice, the environment, science, equal rights and wellbeing, and ours is an open-minded, inclusive and relaxed household. We’d love to find someone who will enjoy the house and its surroundings as much as we do and treat it as their own while we’re away.

The house & surroundings

One of the things we love most about our home is how peaceful and green it is, while still being very well connected to London.

Our garden backs directly onto woodland and a river, which you can access through a gate at the bottom of the garden. It’s a lovely place for walks, getting some fresh air or simply escaping the pace of London for a while. We also have a small herd of deer that regularly visits the woodland behind the house, we see them almost every day from the garden.

It really does feel like having a little piece of the countryside on the doorstep.

At the same time, getting into London is straightforward. We’re close to Harold Wood station and the Elizabeth line, giving easy access into Central London and across the city. Bus connections are around a five-minute walk from the house.

For someone who works in London but appreciates coming home to somewhere green, quiet and peaceful, we think it offers a lovely balance.

The rooms

We have two furnished double rooms available:

•£900 paid monthly in advance - Master bedroom – available for the five weeks that we’re travelling. We’ll need this room back when we return.

• £800 paid monthly in advance - Spare double bedroom – also available and potentially suitable for someone who would like to stay longer. I am flexible about the length of the stay.

If you’re looking for somewhere for the full five weeks, both rooms can potentially be rented separately, so the house could suit a single person, a couple, friends or two individuals.

We’re ideally looking for someone who can stay for a minimum of four weeks, but we are flexible, let's have a chat.

A proper home while we’re away:

This is our family home, not a dedicated rental property, so everything is furnished and set up for everyday living. You’ll be welcome to use the kitchen, living areas, garden and the other facilities in the house and genuinely make yourself at home while we’re travelling.

Wi-Fi and all household bills are included in the rent. £20 tenant reference check with Open rent required to ensure affordability etc.

The area is very quiet and peaceful, and we have good relationships with our neighbours, so we’re looking for someone who will respect that. This isn’t a party house, and we ask that there are no parties or excessive noise.

This is a non-smoking home.

We don’t normally have pets in the house, but we’re animal lovers, so if you have a pet, please don’t let that stop you from getting in touch. Tell us a little about them and we can have a conversation depending on the circumstances, we may be able to accommodate you both.

We’re not looking for a particular “type” of person. A single person or couple would both be very welcome. What matters to us is finding someone friendly, trustworthy and considerate who is looking for a comfortable and peaceful place to call home for a few weeks.
