15 minutes’ walk to Richmond tube, District line) and 10 minutes’ walk to North Sheen Overground station. Local buses. Close to lovely shops and cafes and Richmond Park and Kew Gardens.

We are delighted to offer this fabulous Homeshare opportunity to live comfortably and affordably in South West London in return for providing around 10 hours a week companionship and practical support to an older lady in her 90's.

What the Opportunity involves:

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£240 per month), we are looking to match our homeowner with a kind and friendly sharer (our Homeowner’s preference is to share with a female sharer) who is happy to provide some daily companionship and practical support, and a reassuring presence at night. No personal care is required or permitted in a Homeshare.

Our homeowner is in her 90's, a very bright and well-informed lady, in good physical health, who has had a full and interesting life working in the law until she and her late husband retired. She is independent, and enjoys going for local walks and to the shops in Richmond weekly. She is very close to her family and grandchildren.

She mostly spends her days at home now and has a simple routine, keeping up with current affairs, particularly politics, reading or watching the news, or a home renovations programme on tv, but she feels lonely and would love the presence of another person in the home.

This opportunity would suit a bright and interested female, someone warm and friendly aged 30+ who is either working, or studying ideally sometimes from home.

Someone who is tidy, responsible and reliable, who might be interested in politics and current events and the arts (not essential!) and who would enjoy sharing some time with the homeowner, occasionally sharing a meal, watching tv or popping out for a short local walk.

Practical help would include tasks that the Homeowner finds difficult, such as helping with any IT or technology issues, reaching high shelves, putting the bins out, or the odd local grocery shopping, but this is mostly about friendly companionship and another presence in the home.

The Homeowner is open also to a well-behaved cat or dog.

A driver would be welcomed but this is not essential.

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the homeowner but may be asked to pay a small monthly contribution towards bills. (Full time students are exempt from council tax.)
